El curso USEPA Lead Abatement Worker Initial es un programa de capacitación de 16 horas (2 días) diseñado para enseñar a los estudiantes cómo preparar, ejecutar y finalizar proyectos de reducción de plomo conforme a las regulaciones federales vigentes. Durante la capacitación, los participantes aprenden el uso adecuado del equipo de protección personal (EPP), procedimientos de seguridad y los métodos aprobados de reducción, incluyendo eliminación, reemplazo y encapsulamiento.

El curso combina instrucción en el aula con talleres prácticos que incluyen montaje del área de trabajo, procedimientos de descontaminación, métodos de reducción y limpieza final para garantizar un entorno seguro.

Al completar este curso con éxito, los participantes reciben un certificado provisional que les permite trabajar como trabajadores de reducción de plomo por un período de 6 meses mientras finalizan el proceso de solicitud ante la USEPA para obtener su licencia completa de 3 años.
